Eastfield Garden Centre Hands Over £2,400 To The Lions

The North Wolds Lions are now planning how they will spend £2,400 that was raised with the help of Eastfield Garden Centre following the centre’s Christmas fundraising campaign.

The money will be distributed in the area to finance Lions’ activities such as arranging coach tours for the over 65s and supporting school trips. The Lions are also supporting a photographic competition in local schools and helping with funding for the new Bempton Village Hall.

The £2,400 was raised by the garden centre’s customers making a contribution for their children to meet Santa in the centre’s grotto and receive a present provided by Eastfield.

Brian Stephenson from Eastfield Garden Centre said: “We began our Christmas fundraising for the Lions five years ago and to date we have raised over £8,500. We would like to thank everyone who has supported our fundraising and donated to such a worthy cause. We would also like to thank the Lions for staffing the grotto.”

North Wolds Lions representative Olwyn Morley said: “Eastfield Garden Centre are our largest single fundraiser and we are very grateful for their continued support.”
